Adetokunbo Ajibola
Dr Adetokunbo “The Data Evangelist” Ajibola is an international AI, Data, Data Strategy, Data Management, Data Governance and Data Quality consultant, educator and founder/CEO of Berkeley Data Strategists (BDS). For 25+ years, he has helped organisations across financial services, life sciences, utilities, telecoms and the public sector to design and scale data strategy, governance, quality, metadata/lineage and master data capabilities that deliver regulatory confidence and commercial outcomes.
He has served as Chief Data Officer for a client in Saudi Arabia, leading enterprise data strategy, ownership and stewardship at scale, policy and control frameworks, and embedded data quality, lineage and KPI regimes aligned to executive priorities. His client portfolio includes First Bank, BT, AstraZeneca, GSK, HSBC, M&G Investments, RBS, ING and BNP Paribas, among others across the UK, Europe, North America and Africa.
A dedicated mentor, Dr Ajibola has directly supported 5,000+ professionals into the data profession, championing inclusive, no-code pathways into governance and management. Credentialled across leading standards—CDMP, DCAM, MDQM and CCDO (Certified Chief Data Officer)—he has been recognised with the Outstanding Leadership Award at the CXO Conference (Dubai), the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity, and the Distinguished Award of Excellence in Data Management & Advocacy. He holds engineering degrees from the University of Sheffield and a Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in Business Administration.
